The top of Europe is aptly named for the Alpine wonderland, the Jungfraujoch. The Jungfraujoch, one of Switzerland’s best and highest attractions, is technically a glacier saddle between two mountains. One can explore the ice palace within the glaciers and look at the beautiful ice structures or fly on the zip-line, followed by a visit to the Sphinx Observatory.

Don’t let the altitude deter you; there are plenty of activities for the whole family, including mountain climbing, tobogganing, and more. The renowned Jungfrau railway is, however, arguably the most impressive attraction. Starting at Kleine Scheidegg, the train ascends to Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, at 3,454 meters above sea level.

Bern’s medieval city serves as the nation’s capital and one of its most romantic travel destinations. This area is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site where one can walk around the old town’s congested cobblestone streets. Numerous shops, bars, and bears are spread out throughout Bern’s historic centre.

Yes, you read that right. In the appropriately named Bear Park, located just across the river from the old town, a family of bears, the city’s emblem, resides. Not only that, but the city also hosts several exciting markets, including some noteworthy Christmas markets during Advent.

Zurich, Switzerland’s capital and largest city, is also its social and cultural centre. Despite this, Zurich has a surprisingly active social scene for a city with such renowned financial services. There are numerous events going on, ranging from the famous Pride parade to the most prominent street rave in Europe.

Additionally, the city is quite attractive, from the picturesque views of Lake Zurich to the quaint streets of the old town. One can enjoy the game at the FIFA World Football Museum and enjoy the Aperol Spritz on a congested square in the ancient town.
