Philately Exhibition ‘Rajhans Philex-2022’ Held in Nagpur

The National Philately Exhibition aims to be a platform to introduce the new generation to philately and its delightful charms

INDIA. Mumbai: The philately exhibition ‘Rajhans Philex-2022’ was organized last week by the Army Postal Service Wing, a brigade of the Guards Regimental Centre, Kamptee, Nagpur, in which several renowned philatelists from across the country participated.

The exhibition organized at Anand Auditorium on December 16, under the aegis of ‘APS Base Circle’ Philately activity, was inaugurated by Major General MK Khan. Additional Director General, Army Postal Service. The exhibition concluded on December 17.

Major General MK Khan also released a special cover of Raghava Parade Ground. Shobha Krishanarao Madhale, Postmaster General, Vidarbha Region, Nagpur, was also present. 

Students participated in the Philately exhibition

Students from various schools from Kamptee and Nagpur were invited to the exhibition. A stamp drawing competition was organized for school children to create awareness about philately and inculcate the habit of stamp collection.

Prizes were distributed to the children for securing the first/second/third position, and consolation prizes were given to all the participants. All Station Units were also invited to attend the exhibition. 

The National Philately Exhibition aims to be a platform to introduce the new generation to philately and its delightful charms. Based on this idea, ‘Rajhans Philex – 2022’ was initiated.

As part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the 75 years of National Independence, an exhibition ‘AMRITPEX 2023’, will be organized at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, from February 11 to February 15, 2023, by the Chief Postmaster General, Delhi Circle.

The philately, the art of collecting stamps, is a window for enriching one knowledge of history, culture, art, and nature and celebrating human achievements. When the Internet and mobile phones took over, philately found itself relegated to a quaint hobby. 

However, it is through this very Internet philately is once again gaining traction. Online philatelic marketplaces have come up across the world and have made it much easier for collectors to participate enthusiastically.
