UNITED STATES: Marvel’s Captain America and heartthrob Chris Evans was recently named the ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ 2022 by People magazine. Evans initially kicked off his career in the television series ‘Opposite Sex’ in 2000.
Evans’ first film role came in the 2000s, ‘The New Comers,’ and he played superhero Johnny Storm in two ‘Fantastic Four’ films released in 2005 and 2007.
But he gained widespread fame in 2011 with the release of ‘Captain America: The First Avenger.’
Evans, who for nearly a decade played Captain America in Marvel’s sprawling superhero films, takes the baton from another Avenger, Paul Rudd.
The eligible bachelor of Hollywood feels shy about using “sexy” in a sentence about himself and feels his hometown Boston is a sexy place. He said, “So much history there! I love the accent. To me, the accent is home,” he said.
“I love the weather: the seasons, the sports teams. But the sexiest thing about Boston … maybe our universities. We’ve got a lot of good schools. Let’s give education a plug, that’s damn sexy.”
The actor further expressed his gratitude towards the prestigious label and said, “My mom will be so happy. She’s proud of everything I do, but this is something she can brag about.”
Further added by saying, “That’s something I want. Some things you want just for you, or just for my family and my friends. The most enjoyable aspect of my career right now is feeling secure enough to take my foot off the gas. I feel like I have a bit more freedom to take time away from the industry and still find projects that will satisfy my creative appetite when I return.”
Now in his 40s, Evans is trying to prioritize a healthy work-life balance and spending as much time as possible at home and with his family in Boston.
