INDIA: Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan has been wrapped into controversy ever since the release of its first song Besharam Rang.
The peppy number is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Some people has objected to Deepika Padukone’s outfit as she is seen wearing a saffron-coloured swimsuit in the particular song.
CBFC orders for necessary changes in Pathaan
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has advised to the production company Yash Raj Films that they make the necessary adjustments to the movie, including to the songs, and then resubmit the movie for certification in its altered form.
The chairperson of CBFC, Prasoon Joshi, said, “The movie recently received certification from the CBFC examination committee. The movie underwent a complete and appropriate examination process in accordance with CBFC norms.”
He added, “The committee has instructed the film’s creators to make the suggested alterations, including those to the songs, and submit the new cut before it is shown in theatres.”
The chief of the Film Certification Board hereby highlighted that they want to strike a balance between the creativity of the makers and the sentiments of the audience and find a middle-way solution to every problem.
He stated, “I must again emphasise how beautiful, intricate, and nuanced our culture and religion are. And we must be cautious that it does not become defined by trivia that distracts from the genuine and the true.”
“As I’ve previously stated, it’s most vital to preserving the trust between creators and audiences, and creators should continue to work towards that end,” he concluded.
Many top heads like Madhya Pradesh minister Narottam Mishra a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district is questioning the film thus, seeking the registration of an FIR against Bollywood celebrities Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone for ‘hurting religious sentiments’ with their Pathaan song Besharam Rang. So, now the CBFC asked the filmmakers to come up with the changes.
