INDIA: The highly anticipated sequel of Oh My God (OMG) is finally happening. The announcement was made official by Akshay Kumar as he dropped the first poster of the film alongside the release date.
The release of the first movie recieved positive response, and now the second instalment has left no stone unturned in creating a buzz on the internet.
OMG 2 bags new poster
Akshay Kumar is seen transformed, as he opted for a Lord Shiva-inspired look. The film is set to hit big screens on August 11, 2023.
The poster shows Akshay in a traditional dhoti, in a blue theme. He is completely unrecognizable in the poster as he is covered with ashes, holding a power drum in the sky, beads around his neck and spotting dreadlocks reaching to his knees.
The actor wrote on his social media handle, “Aa rahe hain hum, aaiyega aap bhi (We are coming, you also join us). 11th August. In theatres. OMG 2.”
In addition to Akshay, Yami Gautam will also star in a lead role. She also made the official announcement on her Instagram. Besides this, the Amit Rai-directed movie will also feature Pankaj Tripathi and Arun Govil in crucial roles.
OMG 2 will clash with Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s upcoming film, Gadar 2: The Katha Continues and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. The first instalment of OMG was directed by Umesh Shukla and featured Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in the lead role.
Reportedly, this time, the film will be based on the Indian education system and will hit topics such as exam pressures and college admissions.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar will be seen next in Jolly LLB 3 alongside Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla. The movie will go on the floor in 2024.
