INDIA/SAUDI ARABIA: In a big update, a meeting between the US, Saudi, India, and UAE has taken place, aiming more to secure the Middle East region, interconnecting it with India and the World.
The meeting included Indian NSA Ajit Doval, NSA Jake Sullivan, UAE NSA Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
As per reports, the meeting will also benefit India in getting high-run technology from US companies for “Atmanirbhar Bharat” under the vision of PM Narendra Modi.
As per the White House, “In order to advance their shared vision of a more secure and prosperous Middle East region connected to India and the rest of the world, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with Saudi Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on May 7 in Saudi Arabia.”
“In order to discuss bilateral and regional issues, Sullivan also held bilateral meetings with the Crown Prince, Sheikh Tahnoon, and Doval. He is eager to continue his discussions with Doval outside of the Quad Summit in Australia later this month,” according to the White House.
Furthermore, the White House’s statement ended with a thanksgiving note. “Sullivan thanked the Crown Prince for Saudi Arabia’s assistance in evacuating US citizens from Sudan. The four delegates decided to keep in touch on a regular basis and to follow up on the issues raised throughout the day,” the White House said.
Besides this, it is found that Delhi is mum about the recent meeting. However, the meeting between the four leader heads took place a day before Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen made his presence count in India and signed various agreements to enhance the bilateral interaction in several segments.
