INDIA: Disney+ Hotstar announced numerous projects and film series at the D23 Expo. The event began on Friday and showered the fans with tonnes of new projects arriving on the platform. In addition to multiple international projects, the streaming platform also announced a series based on Mahabharat.
Yes, you read it correctly! Disney+ Hotstar announced the series based on the ancient Indian epic. The streaming platform also unveiled numerous concept arts uncovering the grandeur of the upcoming show.
Disney+ Hotstar showcased the concept art of the Mahabharat series
Disney+ Hotstar shared the concept art on Twitter. The tweet read, “The greatest epic was ever written- retold at a scale never seen before! Stay tuned for an ethereal spectacle- #Mahabharat is coming soon. #HotstarSpecials #Mahabharat #MahabharatOnHotstar @alluents & @MythoStudios.’’
The Mahabharat concept art showcased grandeur scenes, which gives us an idea of the creators’ vision. The images share a stunning artwork of epic war sequences and interior visuals of enormous architecture.
Madhu Mantena, known for Udta Punjab and Bombay Velvet, will produce the Mahabharat series. Mythoverse Studios and Allu Entertainment will also bankroll the upcoming series. The release date for the series is yet to be unveiled. According to the platform, the show’s star cast is still being finalised.
Mahabharat has inspired numerous television shows and films. Out of all the adaptations, BR Chopra’s Mahabharat is the only one which stands out in every way. Whether it was the star cast, the story, or the special effects used in the series at that time, all aspects featured captivated the viewers.
After BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, numerous series were made, but none of them landed on the same level as the original. Now, Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming series based on the ancient Indian epic emerges as another adaptation on its way.
In addition to the upcoming series, Disney+ Hotstar is also streaming Siddhart Kumar Tewary’s Mahabharat (2013).
