INDIA: In India, 75% of the total electricity generation comes from thermal power station, and all the thermal power station runs on coal. It is now not a hidden fact that one-day humans are going to end up with all fossil fuels; therefore, it is the need of the hour to switch to an alternate source of energy or renewable sources of energy in this domain; what can be better than solar energy?

The first step of such innovation of smart lighting systems powered by solar energy took place in the minister of Road Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari’s home in Nagpur. Dr Shirish Khedikar (scientist at Indian Meteorological Department) recently had a meeting with Nitin Gadkari.

The innovative technology of the incredibly effective Innovative Smart Solar Street Light System amazed him. Khedikar and Gadkari had a protracted conversation about the advantages of solar street lights with tracking, particularly for roads, highways, and public spaces where such a development is crucial for zero-emission lighting.

Khedikar saw while speaking with Gadkari that the balcony and terrace of the latter needed lighting, which was installed there using lengthy wires, a painstaking process that used a lot of electricity.

During the conversation, Khedikar had the idea that Gadkari’s home would be the ideal location for the first usage of a smart solar street light. He proposed installing two of these lights there, and Gadkari agreed.

This makes Gadkari’s mansion in Nagpur the world’s first integrated all-in-one smart solar street light with solar tracking capability.

Gadkari personally examined and comprehended the smart solar streetlight’s operating system after it had been installed. He turned on and off the lights, moved them and checked to make sure the motion-based light intensity dimmer functioned properly. According to him, these cutting-edge solar streetlights will soon completely replace all current streetlights.

It used to take the government longer to approve ideas that were outside the box, but Gadkari has changed this trend. Through initiatives like green hydrogen, fossil fuel-free, electric, and biofuel-based transportation, among others, he single-handedly altered how people view transportation.
