NIGERIA: The World Happiness Report has ranked Nigeria 118 out of 146 countries in its 2022 report. The report, basically on life assessment by the World Gallup Poll, sees Nigeria sliding two spots below its position in 2021.
Other factors considered in the report include; life expectancy, GDP, social support, low corruption, and freedom among their nationals.
However, African countries ranked as follows; Mauritius ranked first among the African continent, where it occupied 52 on the log. Libya, 86 in the world, is second in Africa.
Other African countries on the log include South Africa (91), Gambia (93), Algeria (96), Liberia (97), Congo (99), Morocco (100), Mozambique (101), and Cameroon (102).
Ivory Coast (88), Ghana(93), Cameroon (89), Senegal (90), Niger (94), Gambia (96), Benin (97), Guinea (100), and Burkina Faso (111).
Similarly, Finland is ranked as the world’s happiest country globally, the position it has been occupying for the past five consecutive years.
Denmark occupied second position, Iceland third, Switzerland fourth, Netherlands is fifth on the log. Others include Luxembourg sixth, Sweden come seventh, Norway becomes eighth, Israel sits ninth, and New Zealand occupies the 10th.
However, Germany is 14th on the log, Canada 15th, the United States is 16th on the record, and the United Kingdom is 17th. Others include France in the 20th position.
The report also has it that Afghanistan is the unhappiest nation, followed by Lebanon, the reports have said.
