As per reports, Manchester United have opened talks with PSG about acquiring Neymar

FRANCE: Neymar is likely to join Manchester United during the current transfer window from PSG. Talks have begun with Premier League clubs, particularly Manchester United, and a departure for Neymar is not ruled out. Paris does not claim to be a seller in its official statement, but all internal parts are on the same line.

According to L’Equipe, many Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, have opened talks with PSG about acquiring Neymar

A report in L’Equipe suggests that for some, the project should focus on discipline, while for others, it should focus on a more balanced team around a single star, Kylian Mbappé.

PSG is willing to let the 31-year-old leave this summer, and Neymar is contemplating it seriously in the middle of a campaign in which he and co-star Lionel Messi have regularly been singled out for criticism by the club’s supporters. Through 2027, Neymar is under contract with PSG.

United are unlikely to be able to execute a full transfer for Neymar, who has a few years left on his contract. PSG would be amenable to a loan move, and it is unclear how Neymar will fit into Erik ten Hag’s transfer strategy.

The Brazilian is far from being a world-class number nine, and it would be difficult to bring in a true forward if they have to pay a fee for him.

That does not preclude a transfer, though, given that Marcus Rashford can play as the centre forward. Rashford could serve as the team’s primary striker while Neymar plays in his preferred left-wing position. Perhaps Ten Hag is receptive to the notion. This is exciting news in either case.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are on the verge of securing Champions League football qualification, and that gives them an upper hand over 12th-placed Chelsea in the deal.

The Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly looking to replace Anthony Martial with Neymar to partner Marcus Rashford and Antony in the attack.

The football star has been linked with Premier League moves on a number of occasions in the past seasons but the deal was never finalized due to his hefty wages.
