Bangladesh: New Zealand defeats Bangladesh by 27 runs in the 5th and final match of this 5 matches T20I series between New Zealand and Bangladesh. New Zealand won this last match of the series but it was a little too late as Bangladesh won the series 3-2. In this match after winning the toss, New Zealand opted to bat first.
New Zealand started their innings with a bang as both the openers Finn Allen and Rachin Ravindra gave New Zealand a fiery start as they put 58 runs in just 5.4 overs. But after that in the last over of the powerplay, Shoriful Islam dismissed both the openers to put Bangladesh back in the game. Fin Allen scored a quick 41 off just 24 deliveries which included 4 fours and 3 sixes.
After the fall of both openers, Tom Latham was trying to resurrect the New Zealand innings but the wickets kept falling from the other end. As a result, New Zealand was 83 for 4 after 10.4 overs. After that Henry Nicholls contributed 20 runs and after he got out Cole McConchie scored 17 runs off 10 balls to help New Zealand post a defendable score of 161 runs in 20 overs.

For New Zealand, Tom Latham was the top scorer as he scored 50 runs off 37 deliveries which included 2 fours and 2 sixes. From the Bangladesh side, Shoriful Islam took 2 wickets while Taskin Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed, and Afif Hossain took 1 wicket each.
Bangladeshi innings started slowly as Bangladesh was scoring less than a run-a-ball in their 6 overs of powerplay. After 6.4 overs Bangladesh was 38/2 and Bangladesh kept losing wickets and the match was slipping away from Bangladesh’s hands. Bangladesh was 46/4 after 8.5 overs.
After losing 4 wickets, Atif Hossain and Mahmudullah stitched up a 63 runs partnership. After Mahmudullah got out Bangladesh was 109/5 after 16 overs. Bangladesh required 52 runs in 4 overs to win this match. Atif Hossain scored 49 runs off 33 deliveries but the lack of support from the other end caused Bangladesh to lose this match by 27 runs.
For New Zealand, Ajaz Patel and Scott Kuggelejin took 2 wickets each while Jacob Duffy, Cole McConchie, Ben Sears, and Rachin Ravindra took 1 wicket each.
