UNITED STATES: Elon Musk’s management of Twitter was warmly embraced by Silicon Valley luminaries, with Netflix (NFLX.O) co-founder Reed Hastings even going so far as to refer to the billionaire as “the bravest, most creative person on the planet.”

In his talks at the DealBook Summit on Wednesday, Hastings said that he and Elon Musk adhere to distinct leadership styles. He claimed that while Musk is “out there,” he is striving to be a “steady, respectable leader.”

Although Hastings isn’t quite as visible in the public, and he tweets considerably less frequently than Musk, he stated that he was “excited” about Musk’s acquisition of Twitter.

Elon Musk, he continued, is “the bravest, most creative person on the planet.” In response, Musk said, “Wow, thank you for the kind words.”

Hastings declared that he is “100% convinced” that he is trying to serve the world in all of his endeavors, including purchasing Twitter.

The Netflix co-founder stated that Musk supports free speech and its importance to democracy.

Hastings further stated, “I’m extremely respectful, but that’s not how I would do it.” “I find it amazing that people are so nitpicky.”

Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s management of Twitter’s content moderation has also drawn praise from Meta Platforms (META.O) CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

On Wednesday, Mark Zuckerberg said he was eager to see how Musk would perform, adding that it was beneficial for platforms to adopt various strategies.

Speaking at the New York Times DealBook conference, Zuckerberg said, “You can agree or disagree with what Elon is doing or how he’s doing it, but I do think it’s going to be incredibly interesting to see how this plays out.”
