INDIA. New Delhi: The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India organises National Tourism Awards every year. These awards are very prestigious and almost everyone associated with the travel industry participates. This year too, the ministry has invited applications from individuals and organisations for excellence in the field of tourism. National Tourism Awards are presented in various segments of the travel and tourism industry such as State Governments/Union Territories, classified hotels, heritage hotels, approved travel agents, tour operators, and tourist transport operators, individuals, and other private organisations in recognition of their performance in their respective fields and also to encourage healthy competition with an aim to promote tourism.
Applications have to be made in proper forms, wherever specified. Unless otherwise mentioned, the entries for the award should have been published or the activities were undertaken during the period April 2018 to March 2019.
The last date for receipt of entries in the respective divisions is 10 August 2021 before 1600 Hrs.) and entries should be sent strictly in the formats where specified. The applicants are required to apply in hard copies duly signed in ink, with each entry accompanied by 100-word write-ups about the entry, a high-resolution photograph of the award winner, or winning entry of a minimum of 100 dpi for inclusion in the award brochure, if the entry wins an award, and each entry has to be sent in a separate packet.
Some categories for the awards are Best inbound tour operators, Best tourist transport operators, Best adventure tour operators, Best MICE operator, Best tourist guide, Best wildlife guide, Best hotels including Best heritage hotels, Best eco-friendly hotel, Best hotels for differentially abled guests, Best incredible India bed and breakfast establishments, Best foreign journalist/blogger/photographer and many others.
