INDIA: The massive hit biopic of Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, is yet again making a comeback on the big screen after 7 years of its release.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is all set to hit big screens on May 12 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. The movie will also serve as a tribute to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR), who featured in the movie as Mahi, fitting into the shoes of the legendary cricketer.
The official announcement is made by Star Studios via Twitter, “Jab Mahi phir pitch pe aayega, pura India sirf ‘Dhoni! Dhoni! Dhoni!’ chilaayega. (When Mahi will come on the pitch again, entire India will scream ‘Dhoni! Dhoni! Dhoni!’). MS Dhoni: The Untold Story Re-Releasing in cinemas on 12th May @msdhoni #SushantSinghRajput @advani_kiara @DishPatani @AnupamPKher @bhumikachawlat @FFW_Official.”
Whereas, Bikram Duggal, the Disney Star’s head of studios, said, “MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has been an extremely special film for both Star Studios and Indians all around the world. It highlighted our most successful cricket captain’s inspirational path. The re-release will allow his admirers across the country to relive some of cricket’s most magical moments on the big screen.”
Neeraj Pandey’s directorial film stars Kiara Advani, Disha Patani, Bhumika Chawla and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles beside Sushant Singh Rajput.
The movie became a massive hit at the box office run and is still counted amongst the best movies of Sushant’s career. The young actor committed suicide in his Mumbai apartment, suffering from depression and anxiety.
However, his death brought a dry spell into the Bollywood industry, and various big names have been dragged in connection to his death.
Talking about the work front Kiara Advani is all set to be seen next in Satyaprem Ki Katha opposite Kartik Aaryan. Recently, she wrapped up the film, and the movie will be released on June 29, 2023.
