INDIA.Mumbai: The supremely talented Aparshakti Khurana is all set to enact the role of a terrorist for his upcoming movie, Dhoka D Round Corner. The suspense thriller movie is helmed by Kookie Gulati and targets to roll out something exciting for the audience. The film will get its theatrical release on September 23, 2022.
Khurana, who usually exhibits comic roles, made his way out. He made his debut with Dangal, winning many hearts with his comical roles. He created a benchmark in the field of comedy with his appearance in the movies like Luka Chuppi, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Stree. He has his quirky signature way of humour. Khurana usually worked under the shadow of lead actors until the release of his movie ‘Helmet’, in which he is launched as a ‘lead actor’.
The versatile actor is ready to explore new roles, for which he opted for this darker central theme. This time, it will be a completely new ‘genre’ for Khurana.
Talking about the movie Khurana said, “With ‘Dhoka’, I am attempting a very different genre for the very first time. I was trying to do something apart from comedy for a while now but only Kookie Gulati and Bhushan Kumar showed that confidence in me. It explores a different take on human relationships intertwined because of personality complexes, captured with an overall theme which is slightly grungy and grey.”
Talking about his role in the movie he stated, “I play a Kashmiri terrorist in the film. I have tried to show a different side of myself as a performer and I hope that the audience accepts me in this new version of mine on the big screen! Excited for this one.”
This upcoming thriller movie required a lot of intense hard work apart from learning new languages. Khurana revealed, “I hired and worked extensively to learn the Kashmiri language for my character. Also had to drop down a little weight to achieve a more lean look as the character demanded that and had to shorten my hair for the look.”
The dark genre movie, Dhoka D Round Corner stars actors like R. Madhavan, Khushali Kumar, and Darshan Kumar apart from Aparshakti Khurana. The upcoming film already roped high expectations from the fans, and everyone is excited to watch Khurana in a new role.
