MEXICO/INDIA: Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador plans to submit a written proposal to the United Nations to create a commission made up of three world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to promote a global ceasefire for five years, the MSN website reported.

“I will put the proposal in writing, I will present it to the UN. I said it and I hope the media will help us spread it. Because they don’t talk when it doesn’t suit them,” MSN quotes. Obrador said this at a press conference.

“The three are meeting and will soon present a proposal to stop war everywhere and reach an agreement to reach a truce of at least five years so that governments around the world can devote themselves to supporting their peoples, especially people who are suffering. most from the war and its effects, that we have five years without tension, without violence and at peace,” he said.

The Mexican president called for an end to hostilities and called on China, Russia and the United States to work for peace, hoping that the three countries “will listen and accept mediation like the one we are proposing.”

“Tell them that they caused this with their confrontations in less than a year. They accelerated the world economic crisis, increased inflation and caused food shortages, more poverty, and worst of all, within one year, so many human beings lost their lives from those confrontations. This is a paragraph. They did that in one year,” MSN quoted him as saying.

According to Obrador, the proposed truce would make it easier to “reach agreements in the case of Taiwan, Israel, and Palestine, rather than push for more confrontations.”

He further urged that all governments around the world come together and support the UN and not the bureaucratic mechanism in which proposals and initiatives are presented.
