INDIA: Raghu Gururaj presently Consul General of India to Medan, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe.
As the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated, “He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.”

Gururaj joined the Ministry of External Affairs in 1987. As on today, he has served in several capacities both at headquarters and overseas. His diplomatic assignments so far include postings at Yemen, Singapore, Switzerland, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
At the Ministry, he has served in protocol, external publicity division, administration, Regional Passport Office, Bangalore and lastly the Northern Division, dealing with Bhutan.

Gururaj graduated with a Masters in Political Science. He possesses a diploma in journalism and has done a stint as a newspaper correspondent in his earlier years.
