INDIA: Royal Challengers Bangalore defeats Punjab Kings by 6 runs in the 47th match of IPL 2021. After winning this match Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore are the three teams through to the playoffs. In this match after winning the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to bat first.

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Paddikal started their innings strongly. Virat Kohli was looking in good touch while Devdutt Paddikal was also supporting him well from the other end. Punjab Kings got their first breakthrough in the form of Virat Kohli. Moises Henriques cleaned up the Bangalore skipper and the score was 68/1 after 9.4 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore promoted Daniel Christian in the batting order but that plan backfired as Christian got out at the very first ball that he faced and Bangalore was 68/2 after 9.5 overs.

After the departure of Daniel Christian, the in-form Glenn Maxwell came out to bat. Devdutt Paddikal got out after scoring 40 off 38 deliveries which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Royal Challengers Bangalore were struggling at 73/3 after 11.4 overs. After that Ab De Villiers and Glenn Maxwell stitched up a 73 runs partnership.

Ab De Villiers got out after scoring 23 off 18 deliveries and Glenn Maxwell scored another brilliant half-century to help Royal Challengers Bangalore post a challenging total of 164 runs. Glenn Maxwell scored 57 off 33 deliveries which included 3 fours and 4 sixes. For Punjab Kings, Mohammed Shami and Moises Henriques took 3 wickets each.

Punjab Kings started their batting innings with a bang. Both the openers Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul were scoring runs at a fast rate. Punjab Kings lost their first wicket in the form of KL Rahul and after 10.5 overs Punjab Kings was 91/1.

Kl Rahul scored 39 off 35 deliveries which included 1 four and 2 sixes. After the departure of KL Rahul, Punjab Kings failed to put up a good partnership. Mayank Agarwal scored 57 off 42 deliveries which included 6 fours and 2 sixes. After the fall of Mayank Agarwal, Punjab Kings kept losing wickets and failed to chase the target.

Royal Challengers Bangalore kept their cool and they defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs. For Royal Challengers Bangalore, Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 wickets whereas Shahbaz Ahmed and George Garton took 1 wicket each
