UNITED STATES: D23 Expo started with a bang; multiple projects were announced, raising the fans’ anticipation. Out of all the announcements, Marvel and Skydance New Media announced a new game featuring Captain America and Black Panther, which hyped the fans the most.
The upcoming Marvel game will be directed by the Uncharted director and will focus on the World War 2 era in Paris.
The makers also unveiled the first look at the upcoming game starring iconic Marvel characters. The video showcases a short intro of the game’s storyline with retro music.
Marvel and Skydance New Media unveiled the first look of the upcoming game
Marvel Entertainment unveiled the teaser of the game starring Captain America and Black Panther. The tweet read, “Four Heroes. Two Worlds. One War. @MarvelGames and @Skydance New Media are proud to share the first look at our new AAA game with an ensemble cast and original story set in a unique Marvel Universe.’’
According to the tweet, Marvel and Skydance New Media are developing a AAA game which will centre on Captain America (Steve Rogers) and Black Panther (Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather).
Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos and Nanali, leader of the Wakandian Spy network, will also be the central focus of the game. All four characters will be playable. Amy Henning, known for the uncharted video game series, will direct the upcoming Marvel game.
The teaser opens with “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn, which gives a glimpse of the Eifel Tower. The story of the game will take place during the time of World War 2 in Paris.
The video also showcased Captain America’s shield, and later in the next scene, the Hydra logo can also be spotted. The first look ends with Captain America and Black Panther facing off. The short glimpse also reads, “KING, CAPTAIN, SOLDIER, SPY.’’
In addition to the upcoming Marvel game, Skydance New Media also announced a Star Wars game in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Marvel also unveiled a new game, Marvel World of Heroes, and the studio also revealed the release date of Midnight Suns.
