INDIA: Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, has proudly announced a significant milestone for its iconic Alto brand, with an impressive 45 lakh units sold since its inception in the year 2000.

The brand’s journey has been marked by two distinct models – the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, launched in 2000 and the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, introduced in 2010.

The emotional resonance that the Alto brand has forged with customers over the past two decades has been truly remarkable. 

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India expressed his pride in this achievement, stating, “Achieving the 45 lakh customer milestone is a testimony to the unwavering support and trust that our customers have placed in us. It’s a milestone which no other car brand has been able to achieve to date.”

The Alto brand has not only cemented its status as a beloved household name but has also continually raised the bar in the automotive industry. 

Srivastava highlighted the brand’s dominance as India’s favourite car and its potential to continue delighting families in the years to come. With India’s youthful demographic and growing income levels, Alto’s legacy is set to endure.

Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers the Alto K10 variant, catering to a wide range of customers. This versatile model comes with a price tag ranging from Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom).

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 boasts the advanced K-series 1.0-litre Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine. This powerplant delivers 67PS and 89Nm in petrol mode, while in CNG mode, it produces 57PS and 82.1Nm of torque.

 Transmission options include a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) for the petrol version, while the CNG variant comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission.
