INDIA: All India Congress Committee (AICC) Chief Mallikarjun Kharge took a dig at PM Modi for crying at small allegations rather than facing them firmly. During an election rally in Bidar district’s Basavakalyan city, the Congress president admitted that the PM had accused the Congress party and abused Kharge “91 times in different ways”. However, the opposition claimed Modi became the first prime minister to “cry” in front of people. Thus, they attacked Modi by trending the hashtag “CryPMPayCM” on social media.
The Congress loyalist further added, “The PM claims to have a 56-inch chest. What do we do with a 56-inch chest? People need food, shelter, and clothing. If you desire to show off your 56-inch chest, call a tailor, get it measured, and get a new jacket stitched. He (PM) wears one jacket for one function, not a new one every day, one for every programme.”
Lashing out at the Prime Minister, Kharge sought a clarification of why he always has to cry for all the contention. “Every time he says, ‘I am poor, I am backward’. Are we from forward communities? I am from an even more backward community. We are surviving because Dr. B.R. Ambedkar gave us something in the Constitution. Otherwise, you would not have even let us live. You claim that Congress abused you 91 times. Is this something to talk about? You are the prime minister, don’t answer our questions. Instead, you keep on crying,” said Kharge.
The chief of the oldest party of India claimed that he, too, belongs to a backward community, thus stating, “You say that you are poor, you are backward. I don’t say that I am from a royal family. I always say that I am the son of a hard-working labourer. I have never lived off of anyone. My father raised me with hard-earned money, got me educated, and also taught me to fight those who do injustice. You have the RSS, the BJP, and 40% commission people, but still, you cry.”
