INDIA.Jammu And Kashmir: A migrant labourer from Bihar was shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipore, police said today.The attack took place around midnight in Ajas area of Bandipore district.
After the shooting, Mohammad Amrez, a resident of Bihar’s Madhepura, was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
“During the night, terrorists shot and injured one migrant laborer Mohd Amrez, r/o Madhepura, Besarh, Bihar at Soadnara Sumbal, Bandipora. He was taken to hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
The targeted attack on the migrant worker comes a day after four soldiers were killed and two others injured in an attack on an army camp in Rajouri district.
“Army Chief General Manoj Pande and all ranks pay tribute to the supreme sacrifice of soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty in Rajouri and extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families,” an army spokesperson tweeted yesterday.
Mohammad Mumtaz, a migrant worker from Bihar, was killed and two others injured in a terror attack in Pulwama last week.
Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi condoled the incident and took to Twitter, “The shooting of a Bihari Labourer in Kashmir after a series of murders of anyone coming there to make a livelihood is further sign that this Govt has failed on the internal security front. If you can’t protect your own citizens, can you even claim you are a success?”
