INDIA: The box office for Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha continues to fall in its first weekend. Though the film witnessed a minor increase in collections, it still lacked the push that would propel the film to a successful box office run.

The drama-romance picture launched on its first weekend and grossed significantly more on days two and three, but failed to outperform its opening day.

Laal Singh Chaddha shows growth on Day 4 but still underperforms at the box office

Taran Adarsh tweeted the film’s fourth-day collection. The tweet read, “#LaalSinghChaddha makes no breakthrough on Day 4 [Sun] either… Day-wise trending remains lacklustre… Hasn’t benefitted despite the holidays… Thu 11.70 cr, Fri 7.26 cr, Sat 9 cr, Sun 10 cr. Total: ₹ 37.96 cr. #India biz.”

Laal Singh Chaddha grossed ₹ 10 crores on its debut Sunday, surpassing day two and day three revenues. The picture underperformed at the box office, despite increased box office numbers on its fourth day. The film’s total domestic box office collection to date falls short of the ₹ 50 crore mark. Aamir Khan’s film has now grossed a total of ₹ 37.96 crores at the box office.

The aforementioned collection propels the film to its lowest opening in Aamir’s ten-year film career. The film premiered on 3500 screens in theatres. Despite playing on massive screens, the movie flopped at the box office. The shows were trimmed after the box office collection was released.

The film underperformed at the box office due to mixed reviews from reviewers, and a boycott of the movie prior to its debut also had a significant impact on the collection. Based on the revenue collected, the feature appears to be among the low-grossing films released this year.

According to numerous box office reports, Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera, Ajay Devgan’s Runway 34, and Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar all had a slow start. In addition to Laal Singh Chaddha, Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan saw a significant dip at the box office.
