“Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha” Twitter Trend: Kareena Kapoor And Aamir Khan Took Stand For Their Film

INDIA.Mumbai: The intense plot-driven movie, Laal Singh Chaddha grasped controversy before its theatrical release. Twitter trends #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha, which is against the movie. This trend transpired because of Aamir Khan’s 2015 interview clip, where the actor said his ex-filmmaker wife Kiran Rao said, “Our country is very tolerant, but there are people who spread ill-will”. This past interview of his ex-wife sparked nationwide protests.

The entire movie is Co-produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. The Aamir Khan starrer movie  Laal Singh Chaddha is a remake of Robert Zemeckis’ classic Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks in the pivotal role. The movie also features actors like Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Mona Singh and marks the Bollywood debut of Naga Chaitanya.

When asked about how people are writing off the film on social media, Kareena said that everyone has a voice today due to accessibility. “There are different platforms. Everyone has an opinion. So now, if it’s going to be there, then you have to learn to ignore certain things. Otherwise it will be simply impossible to live your life. And that’s why I don’t take any of it seriously,” Kareena told the media. The actress further stated that if the film is good, the response will also be good and will overcome everything.

Earlier, Aamir Khan also recently reacted to the boycott trend, clarifying in a statement, that “Boycott Bollywood…Boycott Aamir Khan… Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha… I feel sad also because a lot of people who are saying this in their hearts believe I am someone who doesn’t like India… In their hearts, they believe that… And that’s quite untrue.”

The actor added, “I really love the country… That’s how I am. It is rather unfortunate if some people feel that way.” Asking his fans and the audience to give his film a fair chance” adding more to it he said, “I want to assure everyone that it’s not the case so please don’t boycott my films, please watch my films.”

Advait Chandan’s directorial movie will clash with Raksha Bandhan at the box office, both of them will have a same-day opening. This could majorly affect the gross collection of the movie.

In an interview when Khan was asked what attracted him to Tom’s role, he said, “Tom Hanks’s biggest strength is his innocence. That’s what I liked about him in the movie, and this is what I’ve tried to do in this film too. This was also a big challenge for me to bring in that expression and mindset, as I someone who’s in his late 50s now.”
