Salman Khan’s KKBKKJ takes a slow start on day 1

Film critic and box office analyst Taran Adarsh unveiled the box office numbers of Salman Khan’s film. He tweeted, “KisiKaBhaiKisiKiJaan is underwhelming on Day 1… More so when one compares it with #SalmanKhan’s #Eid releases from 2010 to 2019… Metros weak, mass pockets better, but not great… Extremely important for biz to jump multi-fold today [#Eid]… Fri ₹ 15.81 cr. #India biz. #KBKJ.”

According to Taran Adarsh, KKBKKJ collected Rs 15.81 crores. Given the box office stats, the film collection is low compared to previous releases of Salman. A family entertainer couldn’t bring major footfalls to cineplexes.

Previously, Salman Khan’s past Eid releases had surpassed a major score on the first day, ‘Bharat’ had earned Rs 41 crore nett, whereas ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ had raked in around Rs 26 crore nett on its opening day, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of Salman’s career.

As per reports, the film is bagging high profits from UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and Nizam/Andhra. But, film critics found the Khan featured film a slow start as compared to his past film opening collection.

The Farhad Samji directorial Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a remake of Ajith Kumar starrer Tamil film ‘Veeram’. Besides, Salman Khan, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Jagapathi Babu, newbie Shehnaaz Gill and Palak Tiwari. The Bollywood masala actioner also has Ram Charan in a cameo role.

The filmmaker Farhad, talking about the film, said, “It’s not a remake, in my opinion. I wouldn’t even call it an adaption. It’s an entirely new experience for me. We made our film the way we imagined it should be made. Those who have seen Veeram will recognise our film as a unique experience.”
