INDIA: On 1st July 2022, Kiran Verma embarked on a journey through the picturesque landscapes of Chotila in the Surendranagar district of Gujarat. Little did he know, this walk would lead to a life-changing encounter with Samu Ben and her husband, Sangram.
Finding the elderly couple living in a dilapidated hut, Kiran Verma was deeply moved. In a heartfelt gesture, he promised to build them a new home, a commitment he shared on his LinkedIn profile.

With the support of kind-hearted individuals like Harshawardhan, Kiran Verma’s promise turned into reality in 2024. Contributions poured in, and soon, the couple found themselves on the brink of moving into their new home, filled with hope and gratitude.
Through a video call, Kiran Verma witnessed the overwhelming joy of Samu Ben and Sangram as they blessed him for his generosity. Their happiness became his own, fueling his hope for a future where such acts of kindness are commonplace.
A Turning Point: Kiran Verma’s Decision to Prioritize Compassion
Reflecting on his journey, Kiran Verma recalled a pivotal moment in Chotila. Despite being on track to complete a milestone in his walk, he chose to prioritize helping Samu Ben, who struggled to stand without support. With the assistance of Ajaz, a walker was procured from Rajkot, allowing Samu Ben to regain her independence.
As Samu Ben took her first steps with the walker, tears of gratitude flowed freely. In that moment, Kiran Verma realized that the impact of his actions far surpassed any distance he could cover on his walk.
Today, as Samu Ben stands tall once more, Kiran Verma finds solace in knowing that his efforts have brought comfort and joy to those in need. His journey, from a simple walk to a profound act of compassion, serves as a beacon of hope for a brighter and more inclusive future.
