INDIA: Dulquer Salmaan, is finally making a proper pan-Indian debut with his upcoming movie King of Kotha. Now, the makers have launched the much-awaited teaser featuring Salmaan in the titular role. The teaser opens by showing the hero’s entry in a stylish Mercedes, giving off larger-than-life vibes.
King of Kotha is made under the directorial vision of Abhilash Joshiy. The movie is also Dulquer’s dream project as an actor. Previously, the actor unveiled the film’s poster on February 3, marking his completion of 11 years in Malayalam cinema. The gangster featurette will hit the big screens on Onam this year in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada.
Megastar Mammootty launched the Malayalam teaser of King of Kotha and wrote, “Presenting The Official Malayalam Teaser of #KingofKotha! Best wishes to the entire team.”
The one-and-a-half-minute teaser straightaway takes the audience to the land of Kotha, which is renowned for its gangster rule.
A voiceover of Dulquer overpowered the people of Kotha, who have been waiting for their ‘king,’ a messiah who can save them from the evils of the land. But the look of Dulquer is still kept under wraps, as his face is unveiled only in the last 10 seconds.
The high-octane film is produced by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. Besides Salmaan, Aishwarya Lekshmi will play the lead character in the film.
In an interview with the media, Abhilash shared his working experience with Dulquer. The filmmaker said that Dulquer was the obvious choice for him because they grew up together, and the actor is the person he is closest to in the industry. Salmaan was the actor to whom the filmmaker first offered the idea, and the latter expressed interest in taking it on.
The director went on to say that it is a gangster movie with romance and music, making it a full entertainment package that would appeal to youngsters and families.
