INDIA: The popular leading lady of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut, who turns heads with her acting skills, is taking a step ahead in her life. The Queen actress is making her directorial debut with the film Emergency, playing the lead role in the movie.
Kangana will portray the role of the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The ace actress previously co-directed the periodic movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and has performed half the stunts by herself.
The Tanu Weds Manu actress talked about the struggle she had to undergo during the shooting of the film. The actor took to her social media handle and shared an interview video of Martin Scorsese, in which he was explaining the importance of framing in a movie.
Kangana wrote, “Most challenging things about direction is….A director is faced with a minimum of 400-500 questions every day from all departments, camera, art, actors, make-up, production and of course, the direction department.”
Further adding more weight to her statement, she wrote, “Trust me, what you want to do as a director is easier to do than to explain … limiting your vision to words is rather agonising. That’s why best teams are those who read emotions and energy and doesn’t get entangled in words … and best directors are those who let those emotions lead them, not ambition.”
In an early interview with the media, Kangana Ranaut stated that the new generation wants to witness young filmmakers, new thought processes, and new concepts. They demand new, unique content, which she is eager to provide. She also added that, as a director, her instinct tells her that her decision will be beneficial in the long term.
Talking about the movie, the upcoming movie will showcase late actor Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman and Mahima Chaudhry, among others, in crucial roles. As per reports, the shooting for the movie is already done. However, the makers have kept the release date under wraps.
