INDIA: JioGamesCloud pulls off a huge deal in gaming sector by teaming up with GameStream.
The telecom giant Jio announced on Thursday that it formed a partnership with the British gaming company Gamestream to launch a domestic cloud gaming platform called JioGamesCloud.

JioGamesCloud will be a cloud gaming platform that will make gaming on consoles easy on any device. Gamestream’s technological and cloud gaming expertise will be combined with Jio’s network and 5G infrastructure to build it.
Gamestream President and co-founder Ivan Lebeau said that the 10-year partnership with JioGames will combine its end-to-end technological solution and content licensing expertise are combined. Lebeau added that GameStream is shaping the future of gaming with JioGames.
JioGamesCloud’s public beta is currently available. JioGamesCloud is free to use on Jio Set Top Box, Android smartphones, and select web browsers for a limited time.
According to the company, JioGames is available on various devices, including smartphones, feature phones, and home gaming via set-top boxes. It enables cloud gaming, live streaming, esports opportunities and solutions, and gaming powered by cloud technology.
The platform would be a one-stop hub that brings together gamers, game publishers, spectators, and gaming communities. Users can access JioGames by downloading the JioGames app from the Android play store.
Kiran Thomas, CEO of Jio Platforms, said that with the rapid rollout of the high-speed, low-latency Jio True 5G network across India, the country has the potential to surpass one billion gamers and become the new hub for the video gaming industry.
According to Thomas, gaming is one of the digital services that has the potential to contribute significantly to economic growth drivers.
When JioGames launched last year, it marked the telecom company’s foray into the gaming market. This partnership between Gamestream and Jio will provide every Indian with a high-quality cloud gaming experience.
Currently, the company provides approximately fifty games in the beta version, including Victor Vran, Shadow Tactics, The Uncertain, Flashback, Grid, and others.
