UNITED KINGDOM: Former F1 World Champion Nico Rosberg has provided an intriguing insight into Jessica Hawkins’ recent test drive in the Aston Martin AMR21 at the Hungaroring. While Rosberg refrained from disclosing specific lap times, he unequivocally described Hawkins’ performance as “rapid,” especially when compared to the team’s official test driver, Felipe Drugovich, the reigning Formula 2 Champion.

Jessica Hawkins’ run in the AMR21 marked a significant milestone, making her the first female driver to take the wheel of an F1 car in half a decade. Demonstrating her prowess, Hawkins completed an impressive 26 laps, leaving her with a profound belief that F1 will soon see another female racing contender.

She plans to work diligently over the winter to attract sponsors and partners who share her dream, with the aim of not only furthering her career but also inspiring more women to pursue their ambitions in motorsport.

Furthermore, beginning in 2024, all ten F1 teams will feature an F1 Academy driver, and Jessica Hawkins is poised to play a pivotal role in Aston Martin’s involvement in this initiative. This move reflects a broader commitment to diversity and inclusivity within the high-speed world of F1.
