UNITED STATES: Tesla CEO requests records of correspondence between him, JP Morgan Chase Bank, and Jeffrey Epstein, who passed away in 2019. No wrongdoing is alleged against Elon Musk, and he reaffirmed his rejection of claims of financial guidance.
The Virgin Islands is suing JP Morgan Chase for assisting in enabling Epstein’s alleged crimes, which include sexually assaulting trafficked women on Little St. James. Allegations against the bank have been refuted.
The US Virgin Islands attempted to serve Elon Musk, the multibillionaire owner of Twitter, with a subpoena but were unsuccessful. The government emailed Elon Musk’s attorney to inquire about his authorization to accept service on Musk’s behalf, but no reply was received.
The Virgin Islands requested permission from a federal court judge in Manhattan to serve Elon Musk with a subpoena through Tesla’s registered agent. The court complaint suggests Epstein may have recommended Musk to the Wall Street bank, but the Virgin Islands did not explain why it thought Elon Musk should submit records.
From 2000 to 2013, JP Morgan served Epstein, a financier. While JP Morgan oversaw Tesla’s commercial banking operations for a while, the Tesla chief was also a bank customer.
The SpaceX founder deemed Epstein’s suggestion to follow his advice “idiotic” and called him a “dumb crook” in a tweet posted on Monday. Epstein was found guilty in 2008 of soliciting a minor’s prostitution and was friends with Prince Andrew, Bill Clinton, and Donald Trump.
According to prosecutors, he allegedly handled a “vast network” of young girls for sex in 2019. Not knowing Epstein’s crimes, JP Morgan Chase has denied this.
