ISRAEL: Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced as “cruel psychological propaganda” a video released by Hamas, which depicts three hostages taken by the Islamist organisation on October 7. The video features three women, Yelena Trupanob, Rimon Kirsht, and Danielle Aloni, who send an angry message to PM Netanyahu, who identified them.

She accused Netanyahu of failing to protect Israeli citizens during the Hamas attack and being unable to bring them back home. She demanded an arrangement for their release in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, highlighting the weight of his diplomatic, military, security, and political failures.

Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to using all available means to free the hostages.

“Abducted by Hamas, which is committing war crimes, I embrace you. Our hearts are with you and with the other captives. We are doing everything to bring home all the captives and the missing,” Netanyahu added.

Ramos Aloni, father of Aloni, added that he was shocked to see her alive but relieved. He stated that, until today, there was no confirmed information about her.

According to him, Aloni and five other members of his family, including his twin grandchildren who are 3 years old, are held captive.

Avital Kirscht, whose daughter Rimon is beside Aloni in the video, insisted the captives receive immediate medical attention and promised to bring her home.

This is the second captive message Hamas has broadcast, following the first clip of French-Israeli woman Mia Schem, 21, made public on October 17.

Israeli officials claim that during the attack, which resulted in at least 1,400 deaths, Hamas captured at least 239 hostages, both Israeli and international.

The ground operation in Gaza, initiated last week, has been complicated by the hostages’ presence, causing over 8,000 Palestinian deaths.

Although four hostages have been freed thus far, it appears that attempts to arrange further releases through back channels facilitated by Qatar have been suspended since the commencement of the ground operation.

According to authorities, a soldier detained by Israeli forces in Gaza has been released.
