On the same day, Israeli and Palestinian leaders commenced talks in Jordan after a gruesome augmentation in violence in the West Bank, which is still occupied.

On Wednesday, 11 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli forces that included a child and three old people. 100 others were also wounded on Wednesday during a military raid that took place in the West Bank city of Nablus.

In an unusual daylight arrest raid on Wednesday, Israeli forces surged into a prominent Palestinian city in the occupied West Bank, sparking a deadly gunbattle that left at least 10 Palestinians dead and numerous others injured.

A resident of Nablus, Nabeela Suliman, commented, “That was very terrible. Many of us began crying and praying to God to protect the city and its citizens as we heard explosions and people screaming in the street.”

A spokesperson for Hamas said on Sunday that the Huwara operation is a natural reaction to the occupation’s atrocities, the most recent of which was the massacre in Nablus.

The spokesperson also added that the resistance in the West Bank will continue to exist and intensify, and no summit or strategy can stop it.

Nearly 62 Palestinians have been killed by Israelis this year, with the rate of one fatality per day following a steady rise in the violence in 2022, when approximately 167 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
