ISRAEL: Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli security forces. They were accused of killing a UK-Israeli woman and her two daughters in April amid tense combat and fight on Thursday in the occupied West Bank.
All three men were reportedly associated with Hamas, an Islamist Palestinian militant organisation that reigns over the Gaza Strip. After a Palestinian hunger striker died on Tuesday while still being held by Israel, violence erupted along the Gaza border, prompting the raid just a few days later.
Following the death of Khader Adnan, 45, an important leader of Islamic Jihad in the occupied West Bank during an 87-day hunger strike, Palestinian militants attempted to launch more than 100 rockets from Gaza in retaliation.
The health ministry of Palestine mentioned that three people had been murdered in the raid that occurred in Nablus’ old city. The ministry highlighted, “Due to the ferocity of the gunfire, two of the martyrs had entirely distorted features, making it challenging to recognise them.”
The three were identified as the “murderers of Leah, Maia, and Rina Dee,” who suffered and died as a result of the attack on their car on April 7 near Hamra in the Jordan Valley, according to the Shin Bet, which used the women’s Hebrew names.
The army found that two M-16 rifles and an AK-47 were discovered in the apartment where the perpetrators were holed up by troops.
Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, welcomed the final executive of the operation that continued for weeks.
He mentioned in a statement, “With the murderers of Lucy, Maia, and Rina Dee, we settled accounts. We are sending the message that whether it takes a day, a week, or a month, we will settle accounts with everyone who hurts us or attempts to hurt us.”
