UNITED STATES:  In a highly anticipated rematch, Israel Adesanya (also known as Izzy) and Alex Pereira went head-to-head in the octagon at UFC 287. Adesanya pulled off a stunning knockout win over Alex Pereira to reclaim the middleweight crown at UFC 287 at the Kaseya Centre on Saturday, downing the Brazilian in the second round to avenge his only UFC defeat at middleweight. Both fighters had previously faced each other in kickboxing, with Pereira being the only fighter to knockout Izzy in that discipline.

The fight started with both fighters being cautious, as they were aware of each other’s striking ability. Izzy, known for his precision striking, was trying to find his range, while Pereira was looking for openings to land his heavy shots. As the round progressed, Adesanya started to land some leg kicks and jabs, while Pereira was looking for the knockout punch.
