Indian Talents Shine Bright with International Emmy Nominations

INDIA: The global stage is set for a spectacular celebration of talent as the nominations for the prestigious International Emmy Awards 2023 were unveiled on September 26.

This year, the competition is fiercer than ever, with around 56 countries vying for honor in 14 diverse categories.

India’s contribution to the international entertainment scene has not gone unnoticed, as three exceptional artists from the country have earned nominations for these coveted awards. Shefali Shah, Jim Sarbh, and the renowned comedian Vir Das have all been recognized for their outstanding work.

Shefali Shah, known for her impeccable acting prowess, received a nomination in the Best Actress category. Her remarkable portrayal of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the Netflix thriller series, “Delhi Crime,” has earned her this well-deserved recognition.

Overwhelmed by the news, Shefali took to her social media to express her joy, saying, “OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. Feel so so honored to be nominated at the International Emmys alongside such esteemed artists.”

Jim Sarbh, a versatile actor with a knack for diverse roles, earned his nomination for Best Performance by an Actor. His stellar portrayal of Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha in the acclaimed Sony LIV drama series, “Rocket Boys,” has garnered accolades.

Jim shared his excitement, revealing, “I was having quite a weird few days, and then all the pieces wrapped up neatly and I heaved a huge sigh of relief…Honored to be nominated for the International @iemmys amongst such talented artists.”

Vir Das, the popular comedian, received his second International Emmy nomination for his Netflix special, “Vir Das: Landing,” in the Best Comedy category. Clearly surprised and thrilled, he exclaimed, “WHAT!!!!!! I got nominated for an Emmy award for best comedy (smiling face emoji) my second Emmy nomination…well…this is a weird full circle (smiling face emoji).”

This year’s International Emmy Awards ceremony is all set to honor the remarkable Ekta Kapoor with the prestigious Directorate Award.

The grand event is scheduled for November 20 in New York, promising to be a night filled with glitz, glamour, and recognition of exceptional talent from around the world.
