INDIA: Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant’s vehicle was involved in an accident while returning from Delhi. His car was involved in an accident on the Narsan border of Roorkee, near Hammadpur Jhal.
According to reports, Rishabh was admitted to Saksham Hospital in Roorkee initially. He has then referred to Max Hospital in Dehradun.
Notably, the national selectors excluded Pant from the white-ball team announced recently for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka.
According to reports, the BCCI had advised Pant to attend the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for strength and conditioning purposes.
Pant played in a two-match Test series against Bangladesh recently. He was anticipated to rejoin the national team for the Border-Gavaskar series in February against Australia.
The accident involving the Indian wicketkeeper and batsman occurred on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Pant injured his head, back, and feet. He was able to get away with it.
The 25-year-old was on his way to Uttarakhand, his home state, from Delhi. According to reports, his car caught fire after colliding with a divider. Pant’s condition is stable, according to reports.
He had to smash open the car’s glass window to exit the ill-fated vehicle. Rishabh reportedly has suffered burn injuries on his back as well as injuries to his legs and head.
The car, which caught fire following the accident, appears to have been driven by Pant. A few individuals stole the cricketer’s money from the accident site.
In the meantime, a few days ago, the Indian team that will play Sri Lanka for the limited-overs series was announced, and Rishabh Pant’s absence from the T20I and ODI squad became a topic of conversation.
He has often shown glimpses of being a match-winner for the nation in Test cricket however has not fulfilled his expectations in the white-ball format.
