INDIA: Indian 2 to receive a big update! Tamil filmmaker S. Shankar has crafted wonders in Kollywood with his ahead-of-time vision. His films have amassed the attention of multiple cinephiles and masses alike. With Shankar’s upcoming release ‘Indian 2’, it seems the hype for this much-awaited sequel to the 1996 Kamal Haasan-starrer film will skyrocket as he is set to drop a major update after such a long time.
Speculation mounts for the release date of ‘Indian 2’
Shankar made the announcement on his social media handle by sharing a cryptic post. It reads, “INDIAN 2” with the message “TOMORROW 11 AM”. The post also has “received copy” written on it.
This hints that Shankar has planned something big regarding Indian 2, and it will be announced tomorrow (October 29, 2023) at 11 a.m. There are reports of the Kamal Haasan starrer in its final stage of filming, which hints that a release date may be announced.
However, no clear explanation is given on what announcement will be made tomorrow regarding the film, but it is sure that whatever update it may receive will definitely be a huge one.
Keeping aside the big announcement, Indian 2 has a lot to talk about. If we look at the film’s stellar cast, it has Kamal Hassan reprising the role of the freedom fighter turned vigilante Senapthy. The featurette also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sidharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Rakul Preet Singh. Lyca Productions is bankrolling the project, with Anirudh as the lead of the music department.
Talking about the storyline of Indian, it concluded with Senapathy killing his son and moving to Hong Kong. The sequel may continue with his return to India, or maybe this time he embarks on a globetrotting adventure.
The action of Indian 2 is speculated to be grand, with a huge fight sequence filmed at Dutch Fort in Kalpakkam. In March, a video also surfaced of Kamal Haasan and Shankar with multiple stuntmen from the sets. Haasan also said that the visuals of the film have impressed him a lot.
