SRI LANKA: India defeats Sri Lanka by 3 wickets to win the 2nd ODI of the three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka. Again after winning the toss, Sri Lanka decided to bat first. Sri Lankan openers Avishka Fernando and Minod Bhanuka started well as they put up a 77 run partnership for the first wicket. Just when things were looking good for Sri Lanka, Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets in two balls to put Sri Lanka on backfoot. Avishka Fernando scored a good half-century but after he got out Sri Lanka just kept losing wickets and after 39.1 overs they were 194/6.
After that, Chamika Karunaratne and Charith Asalanka took their team out of trouble. Chamika scored 44 runs off just 33 deliveries while Aslanka played a brilliant inning, he scored 65 runs off 68 deliveries to help Sri Lanka set a good and defendable total. Sri Lanka scored 275 runs in 50 overs and they lost 9 wickets.
From the Indian side, Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 3-3 wickets each. While Deepak Chahar picked up 2 wickets and the remaining wicket was a run out which was executed by Ishan Kishan.

The Indian team had to score 263 runs in 50 overs to win the match. Indian Opener Prithvi Shaw again was looking in good touch and he also scored 3 boundaries, but just when he was settling down he got out and India were 28/1 after 3 overs.
Then the left-handed batsman Ishan Kishan joined the skipper Shikhar Dhawan in the middle but he couldn’t contribute much as he got out after scoring just 1 run in 4 deliveries. India was 39/2 after 5 overs. Then Manish Pandey came to bat and he played some really good shots. After that Indian skipper, Shikhar Dhawan got dismissed scoring 29 off 38 deliveries and now India was on the backfoot.
After that Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav stitched up 50 runs partnership to stable the Indian Innings, but Manish Pandey got run out in the most bizarre fashion and India was 115/4. Hardik Pandya joined Suryakumar Yadav at the crease but he got out without troubling the scorers and Indians were now in big trouble against Sri Lanka as they were 116/5 after 18 overs. Krunal Pandya joined Suryakumar Yadav at the crease. Suryakumar Yadav also brought up his maiden ODI fifty, but he also got out after playing a good knock of 53 off 44 deliveries. Krunal Pandya played a handy knock as he scored 35 off 54 deliveries but again Hasranga showed his magic and he picked his 3rd wicket of the match. He dismissed Krunal Pandya and also in some way he dismissed India’s chances of winning the match. India was 193/7 after 35.1 overs.
It was looking like India was going to lose the match against Sri Lanka but then as if Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar said “Hang on guys we still got this!”. Deepak Chahar played a gem of an innings. He showed everyone that he can bat and he can now be considered as an allrounder. He completely turned the match in India’s favor as he scored a marvelous 69 off 82 deliveries. His innings consisted of 7 fours and 1 six. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also played a really good supporting knock as he scored 19 off just 28 deliveries. India won the match from a losing position and India won the match by 3 wickets.
