UNITED STATES: In a recent interview with a magazine Jennifer Aniston, 54, expressed her perspective on cancel culture, contrasting it with her view of Harvey Weinstein, 71, the former Hollywood mogul and convicted rapist.
“I’m so over cancel culture,” stated the “Morning Show” star. “I probably just got canceled by saying that. I just don’t understand what it means… Is there no redemption? I don’t know. I don’t put everybody in the Harvey Weinstein basket.”
Aniston, known for her role in “Friends,” worked with Weinstein on the film “Derailed” in 2005. While not among the 80-plus women who have accused Weinstein of sexual abuse, she did acknowledge that she never anticipated spending time with him.
“He’s not a guy you’re like, ‘God, I can’t wait to hang out with Harvey,'” Aniston commented. “Never… You were actually like, ‘Oh, God, OK, suck it up.'”
Reflecting on a specific instance, she shared, “I remember, he came to visit me on a movie to pitch me a project. And I do remember consciously having someone stay in my trailer.”
Aniston found herself in controversy when she appeared to “like” an Instagram post by Jamie Foxx that was criticized as “antisemitic.”
Addressing this, she stated, “This really makes me sick… I did not ‘like’ this post on purpose or by accident. And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds — I do NOT support any form of antisemitism… And I truly don’t tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.”
Aniston did not explain how her name ended up as a “liker” of Foxx’s post if she didn’t intentionally or accidentally like it. It’s plausible that a screenshot of the image was manipulated to include her name.
In a separate part of the interview, Aniston, known for her youthful appearance, admitted her willingness to try almost anything to maintain her looks, even including a “salmon-sperm facial.”
