INDIA: In connection to the mysterious death of Haryana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and actor Sonali Phogat, a new lead has popped up. The Goa police on Friday seized three red diaries from Phogat’s Haryana’s Hisar residence.
The diary shows monetary transactions between Phogat and her PA Sudhir Sanghwan. Sudhir is taken into custody in connection to Phogat’s death; he is even on the prime suspect list.
According to Goa Police, the diary shows that the late BJP leader lent money to Sudhir Sanghwan. Apart from that, it also includes money investments in other states including Haryana, which is Phogat’s home state.
The red diary identified all income and expenses of the late actor along with her appointments. The ongoing investigation is moving in the right direction and the Goa police reckon the murder to be done for an “economic interest”. The diary also includes various names and numbers of politicians and bureaucrats.
If sources are to be believed, the alleged suspect in the case Sudhir prepared transfer papers for Sonali Phogat’s farmhouse property. He wanted to lease the possession for 20 years and has given a token amount for the same. Sudhir wanted to get the farmhouse at a rent of Rs 60,000 per year. Phogat’s brother-in-law said, “Sudhir wanted to take the farmhouse on lease for 20 years at a rent of Rs 60,000 per year. He had given the token amount three times.”
The case is getting new twists and turns with each passing day. The BJP party leader died after consuming a noxious chemical” which was offered by her two aides Sudhir Sagwan and Sukhwinder Singh during a party at a restaurant in Goa, said the police.
In the first instance, the death was declared natural but her autopsy report revealed blunt injuries in her body. In CCTV footage of a club, Phogat is seen walking unsteadily with the help of her aides. This is the last time she is seen after which she died.
The BJP leader was brought dead to Anjuna’s St Anthony Hospital in the North Goa district on August 23. In connection to this high-profile murder case, five people are brought under custody amongst them are Sudhir, Sukhwinder, Curlies restaurant owner and two drug dealers.
