NETHERLANDS. Hague: The prestigious Grote Kerk event venue in The Hague is currently hosting the photographic exhibition titled “Common Bonds: From the Rome Conference to Today.”
This impactful exhibition, on display until October 2, invites visitors into the profound narratives of conflict survivors from various corners of the globe.
What sets this exhibition apart is its accessibility—it is free and open to the public. The Grote Kerk has graciously waived its regular entry fee for the duration of this exhibition, ensuring that these remarkable stories reach as many hearts as possible.
This exhibition is a poignant reflection of the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) efforts to address some of the world’s most heinous crimes. Through the lens of photography, visitors are granted a glimpse into the harrowing yet inspiring tales of survivors.
These stories, although originating from diverse backgrounds, share common threads of human experience. They are narratives of unimaginable violence, suffering, and loss, yet they also echo themes of love, friendship, family, home, connection, community, and hope.
In the face of adversity, these survivors demonstrate remarkable strength, embodying the spirit of resilience.
As one survivor profoundly stated, “One must learn to survive.” This sentiment encapsulates the essence of the exhibition: a celebration of the indomitable human spirit, a testament to the enduring power of hope, and a reminder of the unbreakable bonds that connect us all, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.
Visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in these stories, gaining insight into the shared experiences that bind humanity together.
Impressed by the exhibition’s compelling displays, Adv Pranita Deshpande conveyed her thanks to the ICC for curating this remarkable showcase.
The ‘Common Bonds’ exhibition stands as a testament to the resilience of humanity, showcasing stories from diverse backgrounds that are bound together by shared experiences of hope, love, and survival.
Pranita’s words of appreciation highlight the exhibition’s impact, emphasizing its importance as a platform for fostering understanding and empathy among its viewers.
