INDIA: Exercise Vayu Shakti 2022, which was due to take place on March 7 in the Pokhran range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, has been postponed by the Indian Air Force (IAF). The reason for deferring the exercise, however, has not been revealed.
The declaration was made at a time when the Indian Air Force is assisting in the evacuation of Indians from Ukraine, a war-torn country.
Officials from the administration have stated that a new date for the drill would be announced soon.
At the event, 148 IAF aircraft were scheduled to demonstrate their skills.
At Exercise Vayu Shakti, 148 IAF aircraft were expected to demonstrate their capabilities. Every three years, the Pokharan range hosts Exercise Vayu Shakti to demonstrate its readiness to perform full-spectrum operations.
Defexpo 2022, which was set to take place in Gujarat next week, has been postponed, according to the Defense Ministry, due to logistical concerns with participants.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) said three aircraft transporting 629 Indians from Ukraine’s neighbouring nations landed at the Hindon airport here on Saturday morning.
India has begun evacuating its residents from war-torn Ukraine’s neighbouring nations such as Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland, while Ukrainian airspace has been closed owing to the Russian military operation since February 24.
“As part of Operation Ganga, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has flown 10 sorties to return 2,056 passengers while transporting 26 tonnes of relief load to these nations,” the IAF said in a statement.
