INDIA. Mumbai: In a recent development, thousands of people gathered with the Sakal Hindu Samaj, an umbrella body of Hindu organizations. The rift arose amid the increasing concerns of ‘love jihad’ and ‘land jihad’. The march started from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Park in Dadar and ended at Prabhadevi’s Kamgar Maidan, covering around 2.7 km.

The relocation had an impact on the sale of goods from minority-owned businesses. The Hindu Jan Aakrosh Morcha raised their voice, seeking laws against religious conversions.

The event witnessed the participation of various top party leaders and members of the Maharashtra government, including the BJP MLA and party’s Mumbai president, Ashish Shelar.

The saffron party MP from Mumbai North, Gopal Shetty, the central party MP from Mumbai North East, Manoj Kotak, MLC Pravin Darekar, BJP secretary Vinod Shelar, and Sheetal Mhatre, along with an ex-corporator and current member of Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena, marked their presence at the rally. As stated by the Maharashtra police, approximately 10,000 to 12,000 citizens marked their presence at the rally.

Last week, Maharashtra’s Minister for Women and Child Development, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, requested all Mumbaikars participate in the rally to make it more impactful. The Hindu wing workers raised their voices against the illegal loudspeakers of mosques.

In his statement, the central party MLA Shelar said, “When Hindu women are torn to pieces, the Hindu family and all of us bear this with sadness. These protesters have come out to express this sadness. Everyone must put their politics aside and join this rally…The government will decide at the right time (on love jihad, land jihad). But society’s anger is coming out now, and in a disciplined manner, in the form of these protests.”
