Over the years of experience and expertise, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has managed to create a space for himself. His speciality lies in the detailing of his script and larger than life set pieces. Now, the renowned filmmaker joined the race of OTT and finally made a debut in the digital space.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi first look out
Bhansali is ready to make the audience experience royalty through his maiden web series, Heeramandi. The multi-starrer web series will have Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Sharmin Segal in the lead roles.
Netflix India reveled the first look and poster on social media platforms. The streaming giant added, “Another time, another era, another magical world created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali we can’t wait to be a part of. Here is a glimpse into the beautiful and intriguing world of #Heeramandi Coming soon!”
The first poster of the upcoming series is unveiled. All the actresses look dead-drop Gorgeous in Anarkali suits.
The storylining is based on the courtesans of Lahore and their lives. It will showcase Lahore’s Heera Mandi area and the lives of three different generations. As per information, many larger-than-life sets have been built in Mumbai’s Film City for the series’ shooting.
Talking about the film, Bansali said, “Heeramandi represents a significant moment in my development as a filmmaker. This is an enormous, first-of-its-kind series inspired by the Lahore courtesans.”
“I am anxious but delighted to create this series since it is ambitious, huge, and all-encompassing. I’m looking forward to working with Netflix and introducing Heeramandi to viewers everywhere,” he concluded.
