INDIA: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi, breathed her last today at 3:30 am. Earlier this week, due to health-related challenges, she was admitted to the U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad.
However, the doctors informed that the centenarian was responding well to all the treatments, but unfortunately, the aligning mother couldn’t survive due to age-related complications.
PM Modi performed the rites of mother Heeraben at a crematorium in Gandhinagar. The greatest leader paid his final respects to his birth giver with folded hands.
Heeraben was survived by six children, PM Narendra Modi, Pankaj Modi, Soma Modi, Amrit Modi and Prahlad Modi, and one daughter Vasantiben Hasmukhlal Modi.
The Modi family issued a statement following the demise, “We thank everyone for their prayers in these tough times. It is our humble request to everyone to keep the departed soul in their thoughts and continue with their pre-decided schedule and commitments. That would be a befitting tribute to Hiraba.”
PM Modi informed everyone about the grievous news via his Twitter handle. He wrote, “A glorious century rests at the feet of God… In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values.”
Special bond between PM Modi and his mother Heeraben
PM Narendra Modi has devoted his entire life to serving the Nation and has kept limited access to his family due to his hefty work commitments. However, the leader often used to make time for his aged mother. Heeraben used to live in Raysan village near Gandhinagar with her younger son Pankaj Modi.
Modi, who has always been detached from all materialistic strings in life, has always been close to his mother. On every special occasion and prior to any election, Modi makes sure to visit his mother and seek blessings from her.
At a Public event in the USA, the stalwart of India carried away with emotions talking about his mother. He remembered the selfless sacrifices which his mother made for him, and everything he could achieve today was because of her blessings.
The leader went on to say, “When I was a child, she cleaned dishes and filled water tanks at neighbours’ homes to raise us. Millions of women have sacrificed their entire lives for their children’s dreams.”
In the latest visit to Gujarat, prior to the elections, the leader went to visit his mother’s place and shared a cup of tea with her, learning about her health and wellness.
The pictures were shared all over the Internet, and Netizens noticed a hand portrait hanging on the wall where mother Heeraben is seen feeding his son with her hand, alongside a portrait inside the frame which shows Modi taking oath as a PM.
The photo was very heart-touching and gave a rare glimpse of the purest form of love between a son and another.
