INDIA: For the next six days, most of the country is expected to have a break from the heatwave, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). In its report on April 24, the IMD stated that there would be no heatwave conditions over most parts of India for the next seven days, with maximum temperatures in the remaining parts remaining mostly unchanged for the next five days.

This break in the heatwave is a result of a western disturbance that will begin to reach the western Himalayan region on April 26 and is likely to affect northeast Rajasthan, central Madhya Pradesh, and the southern regions of Tamil Nadu. Heatwaves usually occur between March and June and sometimes extend into July.

Although Rajkot (Saurashtra and Kutch) on April 24 reached the highest temperature of 40.2°C, the IMD has forecast a period of rain and hailstorms that could provide relief for the populace.

Heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas of Kerala on April 26 and 27, Telangana on April 27, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam on April 28, and Meghalaya on the same day.

Hailstorm activity is also anticipated in isolated locations over Telangana until April 26, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on April 25, Odisha on April 27, Vidarbha and south Chhattisgarh on April 25 and 26, and over Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Marathawada during April 25–27.

The IMD has urged people to take the necessary precautions during heatwaves to avoid heat-related illnesses. It is also essential for people to stay informed about weather forecasts and warnings to prepare for severe weather conditions such as heavy rainfall and hailstorms.

In conclusion, the predicted relief from heatwave conditions is good news, and the projected heavy rainfall and hailstorms should provide much-needed relief to people who have been experiencing harsh weather conditions. It is critical for individuals to take the necessary precautions to stay safe during these weather conditions.
