INDIA: Govinda Nam Mera is approaching its release date and ahead of the OTT debut, special screening was held for the entire cast of the film. Vicky Kaushal along with his wife Katrina Kaif attended the pre-release event.
Kiara Advani, Bhumi Pednekar who stars as the female lead in the film also attended the event. Besides the lead stars, prominent Bollywood celebs such as Varun Dhawan, Sunny Kaushal and many more were also present at the special screening.
Vicky Kaushal reveals the Secret to a successful marriage
The most adorable couple of B-town Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, who recently cherished their first wedding anniversary in the lap of mountains.
The marriage took place at Six Senses Fort Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan in a grand Indian way. Vicky Kaushal belongs from a wholesome Punjabi family, often shares his clips jazzing into the Punjabi songs whereas Katrina comes from a Christian background.
However now Katrina is a Punjabi bahu and she celebrated festivals like Karwa Chauth, Diwali and Lohri with Vicky’s family. Currently, Vicky Kaushal is promoting his upcoming film Govinda Naam Mera in full fledged and during that, in a recent interview, he revealed that his wife Katrina has learnt a bit of Punjabi.
During the special screening event, Vicky Kaushal was asked if Katrina speaks in his mother tongue. He replied, “Voti Punjabi bol leti hai thodi thodi (my wife is able to speak a bit of Punjabi).”
He was then asked about his favorite Punjabi word that he constantly uses, to which he replied, “Haanji” which means ‘yes’. He shared that he uses the word a lot, and that it is the secret to a happy life.
The Sardar Udham Singh actor is very familiar with the word, “hanji”. He recalled instances when an entire video clip had to be cut because he said “hanji” repeatedly, and punjabis are more into adding “ji” after every word and avoid saying “haan” singly.
The ace actor added on, saying, “Kyunki ye Punjabiyon mein bachpan mein maar maar ke sikhaya ki ‘haan’ nahi bolna hai, haanji bolna hai (Because in Punjabi’s, we’ve been taught by beating since from the childhood that ‘haanji ‘is to be said instead of ‘haan’).”
The devoted husband even admitted that whenever his wife Katrina asks him a question, he starts with “haanj.”
Govinda Nam Mera is set to arrive on Disney+ Hotstar on December 16, 2022.
