UNITED STATES: Google Bard, the tech giant’s formidable contender against ChatGPT and Bing Chat, is set to introduce an innovative feature known as ‘Memory’. This cutting-edge addition empowers the AI-powered chatbot to retain crucial user-specific information.
This upcoming functionality is poised to revolutionize the way Bard users receive recommendations tailored to their preferences. While conventional searches yield generic results, the introduction of the ‘Memory’ toggle promises a more personalized approach, drawing from the user’s search history and individual inclinations.
The ‘Memory’ feature is demonstrated in the accompanying image, wherein the user provided Google Bard with specific instructions such as ‘avoid eating meat’ and ‘I have 2 kids’.
Remarkably, these details were later incorporated by the chatbot to curate travel suggestions and recipe recommendations. This mirrors the recently introduced ‘custom instructions’ feature in ChatGPT.
Accessing Google Bard’s Memory page is conveniently situated on the left side of the menu, where users can effortlessly append further preferences or remove existing ones.
For those concerned about privacy, the option to disable the feature is readily available on the left side of the screen. Though Google is in the process of a gradual rollout for the ‘Memory’ feature, it is anticipated that users will be able to experience its benefits in due course.
In the previous month, Google introduced an array of enhancements, including Bard extensions, enabling seamless interaction with various Google services like Drive and Gmail, as well as extending support for over 40 languages. Notably, the tech giant has also made strides in reducing false information, with Bard results now being corroborated by Google Search results.
