UNITED STATES: Supermodel Gigi Hadid and her friend, Tyler Cameron, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in Cayman Islands Summary Court on July 12. They were each fined $1,000, but no conviction was recorded.

Gigi Hadid and Cameron were arrested on July 7, after they were found with a small amount of marijuana in their luggage after arriving at Grand Cayman Airport. They were each charged with possession of a controlled substance, and they were scheduled to appear in court on July 12.

Hadid’s lawyer, Shawn Welling, said that she is “deeply sorry” for the incident. “Gigi is a model citizen and she takes her responsibility as a role model very seriously,” Welling said.

“She is committed to learning from this experience and moving forward,” he added.

Cameron’s lawyer, Marc Perlman, said that his client is “relieved” to have the matter resolved. “Tyler is grateful for the opportunity to put this behind him and move on with his life,” Perlman said.

The maximum sentence for a first offense of possession of marijuana in the Cayman Islands is three months in jail and a $5,000 fine. However, the judge in this case opted to issue a fine rather than a jail sentence, likely due to the fact that Hadid and Cameron have no prior criminal records.

The plea deal is a good outcome for both Gigi Hadid and Cameron. They were able to avoid a criminal conviction, which could have had a negative impact on their careers. However, they still had to pay a fine, which serves as a reminder that marijuana is still illegal in the Cayman Islands.

It remains to be seen how this incident will affect Gigi Hadid and Cameron’s careers in the long term. However, they have both expressed regret for their actions and have said that they are committed to learning from this experience.
